Thud: ILE, Finished at last!
Words: 2107
Total words: 99080
Files: 4
Tea: still Emperor's Choice
Music: still Bach's orchestral suites 1 & 2
RSI: still awful
Reason for stopping: finished!

I need to read through the whole thing and do a smoothing pass, and I probably did rush that last bit, but anyway, a through draft!

Will take volunteer beta readers, but it'll be at least tomorrow and probably a few days before it's ready to send.

I should be able to beta on a reasonably short turnaround, and I think I'm reasonably familiar with the whole background of being a 16-ish SF fan in Wales in 1980, although admittedly I was nearly a mile on the English side of the border.

Hurray! It's been inspiring to watch it mount steadily upward (novels are like mountains).

Mazel tov!

It sounds as if you are all set for beta readers, but, if you want/need another one, I'd love to do it! I can do either fast or leisurely turn around, depending on your preferences, and either detailed, lengthy reactions or more general, overall reactions... or anything in between.

It must be great to be done (well, with the first run-through). I would very, very much love to be a beta reader, if you don't have several people you've had read before that you'd prefer do so again. How exciting!

Yay!

(I hope it's needless to say that I want to beta, but since I get nervous about that sort of thing I'll say it anyway.)

I would be excited to beta, and I should actually be able to, unlike the last time when I said I would and then life landed on my head.

Since I am still revising the Book From Hell, I don't think I can beta. Meh. But you've got lots and lots of offers.

Congratulations! No beta-volunteering this time (not that it looks like you need it) as I'm a week behind on my usual work due to con crud, and by the time I catch up will be well into Baby Coming Any Moment Now territory. I will have to wait for actual publication. *pines*

I'll volunteer for beta reading - it looks like you've got enough people already, but I just thought I'd mention it in case you wanted to test the reactions of UK people who weren't there at the time. I've done some beta reading of non-fiction but no fiction yet.

I'd love to be a beta reader, but I suppose it's not very practical for me, because I don't have a computer I can read things at, and it would probably be a waste of printer paper to print me out a hard copy. hm.

Reasonably well acquainted with England - not Wales - up to 1960 but not thereafter. Thoroughly acquainted with SF throughout the period discussed though again not so much recently.
