Con*Cept
So this weekend was a small local convention, Con*Cept, which is mostly media oriented and not really my kind of con.
msagara came up from Toronto and stayed with us, and she and I was
zorinth went to the con. I was on a couple of panels that were irritating in different ways, and I did a reading (from
Farthing, same one as at Worldcon) in possibly the worst reading space of all time -- half of the art show. The acoustics were awful, people were going through all the time -- just ghastly.
There were quite a few people at the con who I'd met when I did the thing in Ottawa, and who seemed pleased to see me again. It was nice hanging out with
msagara, and I had a good time talking to Harry Turtledove, who was GoH, largely about Poul Anderson and H. Beam Piper. But it was a weird kind of convention generally -- there wasn't enough to it, from my point of view.
zorinth had a much better time, he saw some anime and some home made 3D programs and did some gaming.
Montreal could be such a terrific place for a real convention...
